At Exploring Minds we value the importance of personal expression and feel that the tools refined within the visual and performing arts are key. The enrichment classes provided at our preschool provide an opportunity for students to foster their sense of self through exploration in the arts. These include, but are not limited to drama, yoga, French, Spanish, & music!
During our multicultural unit the children learn about the various cultures that make our world. We represent each continent with two art projects and have parents volunteer to do informative presentations. As a culmination to this unit we have a Multicultural Fair. An event where our school is converted into a museum filled with the children’s artwork. All Exploring Minds Families then partake in a delicious potluck with dishes representing countries from all over the world. This event is a celebration of our schools widely diverse heritage as we unify as whole community.
“We shall walk together on this path of life, for all things are part of the universe, and are connected with each other to form one whole unity.” – Dr. Maria Montessori
The children perform in several shows, which we believe play an important role in developing a child’s motor, physical, and artistic abilities, as well as providing the child with an enjoyable experience. We make original productions based on a subject thoroughly visited throughout the year. The children are involved in the entire process from creation to completion and therefore learn to work as a team to create. Our productions offer a great opportunity for families to volunteer and contribute to our school community.
